 A gentle rain embraces you Soon you will ascend into the sky The snow colored clouds take the pink color of cherry trees It takes you away under that endless sky In the cage that is called freedom - Lyrics from "Pink Cloud Assembly" by hide Ahhh, I really like how this came out~~ This would be the commission for ~Jujyoushi of the amazing ( and sorely missed ) musician hide! He really loved this other picture of hide I did, Pink Cloud Assembly, and asked me to draw him a similar image using the lyrics from the song the image is named after as inspiration. ^^ Every human is complex and full of contradiction, and hide, to me at least, is no exception. He seemed to be so energetic and happy when he was performing, yet so many of his lyrics sound so lonely and sad, like he was longing for something aways just out of his reach. So I wanted to try and capture that paradox here... there's hide with his crazy pink hair and bright clothes, yet he's looking unusually somber as he gazes off into the distance, at what no one knows except him.  The clouds ARE supposed to be pink, and do look pink to me in the actual piece, but in the scan they definitely look more red, or like.. salmon pink... :T But it still looks ok ne? I used almost everything but the kitchen sink on this one, haha. I went from my usual colored pencils to ink to gel pens to acrylic paints and yeah. XD; Anyhoo, I really, really, really love this piece. I put a lot of emotion/energy into it hoping it would capture what my client wanted and my own impression of mr.hide. Hope you all like it too!
