Not as dead as you think!

Yay new journal skin!! :iconnyappyplz: I'll prolly be changing them a lot as I try to find one that truly suits me... but this one caught my eye so I'll stick with this for a while haha.

But yeah I feel so behind on most of my "social networking" sites, ESPECIALLY deviantart. As it is I have like 9,000 pics to go through in my watchbox. :iconscaredtodeathplz: A lot of them may be club deviations tho so I can prolly burn some of them to make time for more important ones, like you guys. <3

To be honest I don't even know what's been keeping me so busy lol. I just don't have the energy I guess.. I dunno. Summers here in southern Arizona are brutal~~ The sun/heat just zap all energy from me, not to mention allergies and my other health woes. x_x Thank god tho the monsoons are on the horizon!! :icononionharpplz: I hope we get some epic rain and thunderstorms this year, since the last few have been really disappointing.

Tho I have been busy with some things haha. Like :iconcolour-dive:... if you haven't already, GO CHECK IT OUT. AND BUY A BOOK. IT'S JOYGASMIC. Also I've pretty much sold at every con from here to Phoenix, so a lot of time was spent drawing new stuff/making new merchandise and when I'm lucky enough to get some commissions, workin' on those too haha. My next con to sell at isn't until October pretty much, so I'm going to enjoy this bit of a break haha. Especially because Phoenix Comic Con was so fucking crazy and epic, I was so busy I basically spent the entire con trapped behind my table or being half dead in the hotel haha. Man tho so many awesome things happened, PCC would be a whole entry by itself... I may write that up eventually haha.

This weekend tho, I'm heading out to California for Anime Expo and AM^2!!! I'm unhappy because we have to drive, as my last roadtrip to California was disastrous, to put it mildly lol. It's been like 3 or 4 years but I'm still traumatized haha. ^^; But yesh, besides the cons themselves, I'm excited because I'm making a big return to cosplay this year! :'D I've kinda taken a break, only doing simple costumes if any, but I felt inspired to be ambitious this year and dragged friends into group cosplay to make it all the better. :D So I'm doing Alexiel from Angel Sanctuary (FINALLY), Amaterasu from Okami (my own design), and bringing back Baiken from Guilty Gear to cosplay with friends. :) But yeah luckily I had actually already made Alexiel for last year, but had so many technical difficulties when the time came to wear her I basically didn't cosplay at all haha. But I've since fixed everything so hopefully other than being hot as hell, I should not have any wardrobe malfunctions at least.  Also had Baiken already done from way back, I was gunna add a back design but got too lazy lol. So really I only had to make my Amaterasu costume, which luckily didn't give me too much trouble. I also helped my niece make hers, and our friend Meg too. They're going to be Yumigami (the rabbit) and Nuregami (the snake), I designed all of the outfits with their input so it's really all kinds of awesome seeing the costumes come together IRL. :'D Then I had to help Meg make her Guilty Gear costume, Ino, which I stupidly thought "PFFT she barely wears anything, this will be EASY." I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG. OMG. Srsly the bitch barely has any clothes on and yet it was the most nightmare-ish cosplay hell to make. I think it's mostly because the fabric is pleather/vinyl, so there's NO stretch/give, so things have to be fitted exactly AND lined and then my sewing machine hates me and all kinds of things go wrong when trying to sew this already difficult fabric together. :iconguaahplz: BUT, now that it's all finished, I'm really proud of it, even if it's not perfect haha. Cuz you have to remember, I don't know how to use patterns and have no real sewing knowledge/skills... my motto is "lay down and I'll trace you" (applies to laying down already made garments and tracing them too XD). At any rate, I'm so exciting for cosplay fun times. :D

And please send good thoughts my way that we have a safe road trip and don't die... that includes me dying from the 8 hour panic attack I'm sure to be having all the way there and back. XD

Anyhoo I haven't slept yet, and I think I might finally be drowsy enough to do so. I'll talk to ya all post AX/AM^2!! <333333

Maybe next year we can head out to CA as a group? My hubby wants to head over that way and see old friends anyhow. ^^; I'm not thrilled about their highways either though...I've heard the stories, the horrible horrible stories... TAKE IT SAFE!
And wow, 9k? You beat what I came back to after two months away. :XD:
Don't worry too much about my stuff...you haven't missed much...
